20 Ways To Be an Effective Witness for Christ

  1. Show integrity and good character that reflect our Christian values.
  2. Ask the Lord to give you boldness each day and present opportunities to minister to co-workers and clients.
  3. Be available and make time for ministry throughout the day.
  4. Be well-versed in the Scriptures and memorize verses and passages that you can use to help you share the Gospel.
  5. Exhibit the Fruits of the Spirit in your dealings with people (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control).
  6. Plant seeds in your conversations – let people know you go to church or attend a Bible study. This will see if the person is interested in spiritual things.
  7. Offer prayer before your meal with your clients.
  8. If your clients or co-workers are going through tough times, ask them if you can pray for them and pray for them on the spot.
  9. Develop a deeper relationship with your clients/co-workers. Get to know them on a personal level and see how you may minister to them.
  10. Keep a Bible on your desk.
  11. Invite your clients/co-workers to church, Bible study, or a breakfast outreach.
  12. If there is crude language or dirty jokes being told, abstain and do not partake.
  13. Let your client/co-worker know that you will be praying for their business and their family, and/or ask if they have specific prayer requests.
  14. Practice your personal testimony on how you came to Christ, and how it changed your life. Then you will be ready to share this effectively with your co-worker/clients.
  15. Invite your co-workers/clients to do a service project with you.
  16. Make it a practice to pray for your co-workers and clients, asking the Lord to open a door to share the Gospel.
  17. Be an encouragement to people around you. Be positive, but also be real.
  18. Do not be overbearing or pushy with your faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.
  19. Be approachable and friendly, have a compassionate heart, and treat people with love and respect.
  20. Make sure you are able to share the Gospel clearly and know how you can lead someone to Salvation. ‘Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one’. —Colossians 4:6
